Villa 125, Dawlish Warren: sleeps 5

Villa 125 is the larger of the two holiday homes at Dawlish Warren Holiday Homes. It sits on Welcome Family Holiday Park, a flat 10-minute walk from the Blue Flag beach and nature reserve, and 5 minutes from Dawlish Warren station, shops and cafés.

It sleeps five, so it works well for a family with three children or two adults with grandparents in tow. Beds are made up with fresh linen before you arrive.

Inside the villa

• King bedroom: a king-size bed with a tufted headboard, bedside lamps, and wardrobes and drawers for a longer stay.
• Bunk room: a small double bed with a single bunk above it, a favourite with children.
• Living room: leather sofas, an electric fire and a Smart TV, with fast WiFi of around 98 Mbps.
• Kitchen and dining: a big kitchen-diner with a range cooker, double oven, ceramic hob and American-style fridge freezer, plus a round dining table for four.
• Bathroom: a bath with an electric shower over it, handy for washing off sandy children.

Outside

The front patio has room for a parasol and windbreak on sunny days. Free parking is about 30 seconds from the door, and the villas share a courtyard garden with a picnic bench for a morning coffee.

Getting out and about

Walk the sea wall to Dawlish in about 25 minutes, past Brunel's railway and the red cliffs, to see the black swans and have tea by the Old Mill waterwheel. Trains from Dawlish Warren run to Exeter, Dawlish and Teignmouth, and Dartmoor is about 40 minutes by car.
